#71 Margo Price: Strays

Sarah Burke speaks to songwriter, producer, musician, feminist and activist Margo Price about her two 2023 albums Strays and Strays II, her proudest moments of the year, and some tougher moments in the spotlight.

In this conversation, musician Margo Price discusses her journey as an artist and the significant moments of her career with host, Sarah Burke. She talks about exploring production and studio work, as well as her reinvention as an artist. Margo also shares her experiences with psilocybin and how it has influenced her music, and lead to her to sobriety. Of course, she discusses the challenges of being a public figure and navigating controversy online, especially as a woman with strong opinions. Margo Price uses her platform to address social and political issues, even in the face of controversy and hate. Margo also tells Sarah about collaborating with artists like Sharon Van Etten and Mike Campbell who have been influential to her music for many years.

Margo highly recommends a few audiobooks at the end of the episode: Lucinda William's Don't Tell Anybody The Secrets I Told You and Patsy Cline: In Her Own Words, which she wrote the forward for.
